Getting rid of clutter while also doing something good.
Where We Give
Know that when you donate goods to Composed Giving, they are being distributed to individuals, charities, and communities in need across Los Angeles. Here are just a few of our favorite places to support. Are we missing your favorite charity? Email us and let us know!
+ Alliance for Children’s Rights — We coordinate with their social workers and staff to give personal and household items directly to their clients.
+ A Sense of Home — Donate gently used household items and furniture to help create first-ever homes for youth who "age out" of foster care.
+ Baby2Baby — Donate your gently used children's clothing & toys, car seats, cribs, and any new/unused supplies. Check their website for locations.
+ Buy Nothing Groups — A hyper-local way to give back based on the sub-city you live in. They are found by city, and it’s a great way to give items to your neighbors rather than items going to waste.
+ Dress for Success — Donate your gently used business attire and Dress for Success will provide a woman in your area with a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help her thrive in work and in life.
+ Freecycle — A grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (and getting) stuff for free in their own towns and neighborhoods. It's all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills.
+ Trans Wellness Center — Accepting donations for new, unused clothing, shoes, accessories, and wellness essentials such as new makeup, hygiene/hair products, tampons, pads, as well as gender neutral or masculine professional clothing. TWC provides resources for transgender and non-binary people from a 3,000-square-foot center, with six local organizations joining forces.
+ Animal Shelters across Los Angeles — Animal shelters always need blankets, toys, and other items from their Wish Lists. And of course always need volunteers! Learn more.
+ LA Family Housing — LA Family Housing helps people transition out of homelessness and poverty through a continuum of housing enriched with supportive services.
+ Alexandria House — Alexandria House is a transitional residence and house of hospitality providing safe and supportive housing for women and children in the process of moving from emergency shelter to economic stability and permanent housing.
+ LA Mission — Los Angeles Mission breaks the cycle of homelessness and poverty, by stabilizing people in a safe and spiritual environment, connecting them to solutions and walking with them on their journey.
+ CASA LA — Elsa has been a CASA since 2016, and brings items to the courthouse, group homes, and other placements so that foster youth have access to clothing and other personal items.
+ Habitat for Humanity — When remodeling your home, consider donating old appliances or even cabinetry! They will resell your items and the profits will go toward building and repairing homes around the world.
+ James Storehouse — Donate essential home and personal care items to James Storehouse to support children and youth in foster care.
+ Lion's Club — Donate your old eyeglasses to Lion's Club who will repurpose your frames for someone who is in need! Give the gift of sight.
+ Local Libraries — If your book collection has grown too large for you, donate your old (loved!) books to your local library so that others can experience the magic of reading them.
+ Madewell — Donate old denim in any condition (from any brand) and you'll get a $20 credit toward a new pair of jeans. Bonus: They recycle your jeans into housing insulation through their partnership with Habitat for Humanity-- A total win-win!
+ Operation Blankets of Love — Donate your old towels + blankets (in any condition!) for pets awaiting adoption. Check here for nearest drop-off locations.
